Hullo!
I've been hard at work trying to add some more "juice" to our lovely dating sim. The easiest way to do that was to add some more patrons to the game's bar! Sure, you may not see this scene in real life nowadays, but we can try and experience what we can't have in video games still.
To keep with the whole mildly-uncomfortable feel that we've got going on, and also to keep some consistency with the game's other extra, the characters are just capsules and spheres. Obviously the biggest benefit of doing this is that there's almost no art overhead this way (I did have to open Photoshop to make the faces, buuut), but I think that the weirdly simplistic characters add to the ambience as well.
You might also notice that you can look at these guys as well! Similar to the bartender, they react to you looking them in the face. Instead of giving you a friendly wave, though, these other friends just smile and get real happy that you're giving them attention. In purely technical terms, they change their face to a smile, give off a little particle effect, and play a nice bell tone for you.
